What’s new at EMA’S July

Dear Customers, suppliers and friends.

Ginger

Season is now ended in Peru and our last containers from the old harvest have been sold. We expect the new harvest from Peru to arrive again end of August/start of September. We will also have fresh harvest turmeric with the Ginger containers again. Many different packings and promotions are possible.

During the season pause in Peru we can as usual offer Chinese ginger as a replacement.

Carambola

EMA’S two suppliers of Carambola in Malaysia have updated their certificates and are ready for full supplies in second half of 2023. One of our suppliers will be focused on starting up sea shipment end year and the other supplier will continue with air shipments. Airfreight prices have reduced some in 2023, which has brought down the prices. Stay tuned with us for this.

Sweet potatoes

We have changed our supplies of sweet potatoes in 2023 to USA. Their season is now tailing off and their new crop will be available again in start November. To supplement the supplies from USA in Q3, we will offer Egyptian and Spanish supplies. Sizes will be M, L and XL. We will continue the grading at EMA’S Holland when we pack in boxes. Main supplies are still orange varieties but there are options to try some purple, white and organic sweet potatoes.

Thai Pyramid coconuts

Pyramid coconuts from Blue River arrive in Holland. First shipping wave for 2023 has ended, dry season in Thailand means the costs there are very high for coconuts. In 5-6 weeks the season is due to change and shipments by sea should start up again. It’s a wise idea to submit your planning and preferred packing on this item asap so we can try to plan in due time.

Ivory Coast Brown Coconuts:

Production of Brown coconuts is back to normal again.  However costs are still relatively high. Normally the coconuts arrive in Sizes 40+50 via Antwerp. We can pack these in C16 boxes.  Coconuts are also available pre-booking in C50 Organic.

Thai specialties

In spite of constantly changing weather our supplier is still sending weekly air shipments to Schiphol. Lemongrass, banana leaves, dried lime leaves, turmeric and galangal are available. Baby corn is on the short side at the moment but smaller volumes should be possible. In the meantime we have backup supplies from Kenya if bigger volumes are needed. Special packings and programs possible when preordering.

Freight rates from Bangkok are still high compared to other origins. Keep this in mind when planning.

Dutch specialties

Should you need some of the different Dutch greenhouse specialties to fill up trucks then please let us know.
